I have been working with adults with psychiatric disabilities, dementia and other medical or neurological conditions for my entire career.
I have been a Licensed Clinical Neuropsychologist since 2000. I completed undergraduate work at UC Davis and graduated with a PhD in Clinical Psychology with a Health focus from Alliant University in San Francisco. I completed my APA Accredited Internship at the VA Northern California Healthcare System with rotations in Neuropsychology, Behavioral Medicine and Substance Abuse. I completed my APA Accredited Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Neuropsychology from the UC Davis Department of Neurology and Alzheimer's Disease Center and the VA Martinez Healthcare Consortium.
I have worked and trained at many hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area including UCSF - Department of Neurology - Epilepsy Center, San Francisco General Hospital - Department of Neurosurgery - Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Program, St. Mary's Hospital (Acute Rehab), Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (Acute Rehab) and Alameda Healthcare System - Alameda Hospital, Fairmont Hospital, John George Psychiatric Hospital and Highland Hospital. I have also consulted at various Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs), Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs), Memory Care Centers as well as home visits.
I am also a Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) with the Division of Worker's Compensation in the State of California. I am a neutral, 3rd party evaluator who can help with any dispute resolution issues involving a work-place or occupational Injury. I can assess the cognitive and psychiatric functioning for patients with neurological or psychiatric injuries (i.e., traumatic brain injuries). QME referrals are through the State of California only. Please ask your attorney if you would like to request me as an Agreed Medical Evaluator (AME). The opposing attorney would need to agree to have me do the QME evaluation.
I have worked for Kaiser Permanente since 2017. I currently work at Kaiser Oakland Psychiatry in the Crisis and Emergency Department, evaluating and treating patients with psychiatric disabilities, work stress (non-industrial injuries) and other psychiatric emergencies (placing and lifting involuntary 72 hour psychiatric holds / WIC 5150).
If I have seen you at Kaiser, I cannot see you in my private practice. If you contact me through Kaiser, I will not be able to see you in my private practice. If you have been evaluated through my private practice, I will not be able to assess you through Kaiser and your case will be referred to a colleague. These medical - legal, capacity, QME, Neuropsych/Psych evaluations are not a covered benefit through Kaiser Permanente.
